TVR Sagaris

There was a time when buying a TVR meant throwing caution to the wind and taking a chance every morning on whether it would get to where it was going. Those days are long gone, however, and while those early cars may have been amazing hairy-chested sports cars that could be woefully unreliable, TVR now produces amazing hairy-chested sports cars that are simply unimpeachable.
TVR have become famous in recent years for such legendary cars as the Tuscan and the Cerbera, but then there’s this – the Sagaris.
Take a look at it and what does it say? Drama; there is nothing more dramatic on the market than this quite astonishing car.
To describe it as beautiful is pushing the boundaries; there are more beautiful cars – in the true sense of the word – on the market, but there are none that capture the essence of the manufacturer as firmly as the TVR Sagaris does. For this car simply says ‘TVR’ without anyone having to ask what it is.
It’s aggressive, it’s dramatic and it’s certainly an eye-catcher, and it must be said it has a certain charm, too. This car wants to eat Porsche’s for breakfast, it is desperate to give abuse to a Ferrari 360, and it is ready to show its ample rear to anything that tries to take it on.
What TVR are good at – and the legendary Italian makers not so – is building a car that, on the one hand, is blindingly fast and would be at home on a race track, but on the other hand is easy to drive and happy popping to the shops for the weekly groceries. The Sagaris continues this trend, and what a shopping car it makes!
The four litre TVR straight six engine is a legend already, and gives the Sagaris a sensational 380BHP. This is enough to send this rocket ship to 60mph in less than four seconds, and to 100mph in just over eight seconds. Onwards it will go, too, to in excess of 160mph. And if you have never heard a TVR in action, you are in for a treat. This is not just a noise it’s a symphony, and one composed by a man who has a pact with the Devil.
Whole sports cars still hold a place in the heart of the true driving enthusiast it will be difficult to find a more apt manufacturer than TVR. This little company continues to push the boundaries of design and performance, with no attention paid to such nuances as prettiness. A TVR is not meant to be pretty – it is meant to be mean, fast and very, very frightening. The Sagaris is all those things, and more.
