My light came on today. in my peugout 307, the E.S.P. light i mean.I have no button, so does this mean it is not working,it went off , after the engine was turned off. Is this still safe? My car is new to me, and 2004 in year..

I was also told by the garage that I bought my car from "Dont use the ESP" which is not really professional, and my car was not cheap,so after checking everything out on the Internet I realise how stupid his comment was.
I wonder how many other people have been told not to use it, and if you are told by the garage you tend to belive them ???

the ESP button on the dash is for turning the ESP on/off if you press it the warning light will come on the dash alerting you that the ESP wont work. best just to leave it turned on, dont really know why they give you the option to turn off/on anyway?

In the UK all but the very basic models have ESP supplied as standard equipment.

Apart from very "cheap and nasty" imports, and VERY basic models, you would struggle to find a model not fitted with ESP.

Well if I’d had seen this or realised the importance of ESP before I ordered my new Qashqai I would have defiantly ordered ESP and I’m already thinking about a retro-fit if that’s possible.
Still can’t understand why the powers that be don’t step in and make it a standard requierment on all new cars after reading this.
